PTSD & Complex Trauma Therapy | The Vibrant Heart Project

Healing Is Possible

Trauma lives in your body, not just your mind. With specialized approaches like EMDR and somatic therapy, you can process traumatic memories safely and reclaim your sense of safety and peace.

What Trauma Can Look Like

Trauma isn't always obvious. It can show up in many ways that might not immediately seem connected to past experiences.

Intense emotional reactions that seem disproportionate to situations

Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or others

Persistent self-doubt or feeling like something is fundamentally wrong with you

Patterns of relationships that repeatedly hurt you

Hypervigilance, always scanning for danger even in safe environments

Nightmares, flashbacks, or intrusive memories

My Trauma Healing Approach

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing helps your brain process traumatic memories safely so they become part of your past rather than feeling present and threatening.

  • Evidence-based treatment for PTSD
  • Effective for single-incident and complex trauma
  • Helps memories feel like past events, not current dangers
  • Particularly helpful for identity-based trauma and shame

Somatic (Body-Based) Approaches

Trauma lives in your body—in chronic muscle tension, disrupted breathing patterns, and nervous system dysregulation. We'll work with:

  • Nervous system regulation to help your body feel safe
  • Body awareness practices to reconnect with sensations
  • Movement and breathwork to release trapped energy
  • Grounding techniques for present-moment awareness

Parts Work (Internal Family Systems)

Trauma often creates internal conflicts—parts of you that are angry, scared, protecting, or in pain. Parts work helps you:

  • Understand and befriend all parts of yourself
  • Heal wounded inner children and protective parts
  • Reduce internal conflict and self-criticism
  • Access your core Self for healing and integration
